As an Advisor in Business Operations Analysis in the Customer Experience team of Southern California Edison (SCE) , Dr. Melanie Edel primarily provides technical assistance to SCE’s Income Qualified Programs (IQP) in its customer eligibility verification, customer acquisition propensity modeling, statistical profiling, and other related tasks. Dr. Edel has been working in the areas of predictive analytics, multivariate random sampling, survey research and analysis, and research methods and design for at least 30 years. Dr. Edel completed her Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology at the University of Hawaii-Manoa and her M.A. in Demography and B.S. in Statistics at the University of the Philippines-Diliman.
Most recently, Dr. Edel presented at the National Energy and Utility Affordability Coalition (NEUAC) Conference in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and at the Behavior, Energy, and Climate Change (BECC) Conference in 2015. She also taught multivariate statistics, survey research, and development studies in the graduate and upper undergraduate programs of the University of the Philippines-Diliman, De La Salle University-Manila, the University of Hawaii-Manoa, the University of Hawaii-Hilo, the Hawaii Pacific University, and Chaminade University of Honolulu.
