Vivek Kirpalaney has 25+ years’ experience in the utility industry. At OPG he has led the launch of several technology tools within the engineering, procurement, operations, asset management, energy markets, analytics and innovation teams. He currently works on operational readiness for the Small Modular Reactor (SMR) project which is a first-of-a-kind in North America and the first of four ~300MW units is expected to be commissioned in 2030. He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo and an MBA from the Rotman school at the University of Toronto.
