Mehdi Ganjkhani is a Data Scientist at The Energy Authority (TEA), where he develops and maintains advanced forecasting and analytics solutions that support utility-scale portfolio management, strategic planning, and resource optimization. Since joining TEA in September 2023, he has focused on both short-term and long-term load forecasting, building and maintaining advanced AI-driven models tailored to the operational and planning needs of various public power utilities. Mehdi is also a key contributor within TEA’s Analytics department for testing, developing, and implementing Generative AI (GenAI) solutions, designed for internal use as well as deployment across TEA’s utility clients.
Mehdi earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Utah in 2023, where he developed machine learning approaches to enhance the resiliency and cybersecurity of power distribution systems, with a focus on detecting and localizing cyber-physical anomalies.
