Peter Nearing is a Principal Advisor at Stantec, leading the Energy Analytics & Technology group. He supports utility clients across North America operationalize and sustain their analytics, technology, and grid modernization strategies. Recently, Peter has led projects that include AI and machine learning advisory, advanced power forecasting, building predictive analytics, and establishing grid modernization strategies.

Peter has held roles at a major electric utility, where he led projects in grid modernization, data analytics, smart grid technology, and regulatory affairs. Today, he leverages that background to provide analytics and technology advisory to utilities, supported by a fundamental understanding of their business and challenges.
