Speaker Bio
Sam Grant is the Project Manager for the Engineering Analytics & Modeling team within the Strategic Initiatives department at Dominion Energy Transmission. Sam is a graduate of The University of Texas where she studied International Business and Linguistics. After college, she got her start in Technical Project Management in Austin, TX in the DevOps space where she worked with clients to develop bespoke application builds, create cybersecurity solutions, optimize data management, and develop and implement digital transformation strategies, helping to move enterprise clients from on-prem stacks to data centers. She joined Dominion Energy in 2023 to help operationalize, develop, and grow a modest, but mighty team of 5 Engineers into 3 programs of over 20 people.

The Engineering Analytics and Modeling team has two major functions: Electric Load Forecasting and Measurement Analysis and Modeling. The core mandate of this team is to use measurements and modeling to better understand our system. As owners and users of SCADA data, PMU data, and very soon, point-on-wave data, the Engineering Analytics & Modeling team act as stewards of sensor data to promote data accessibility and data quality—all in an effort to improve the quality of decision-making, promote explainability, and to provide meaningful insights that enable leadership and teams across Dominion Energy.

Sam supports and enables her team through the creation of operating models, capability development, change management, cross-department collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and strategy development.
