Date & Time

Focus Area
Analytics Architecture & Technology, Enterprise Analytics, Data Science
Description

Salt River Project calls on utilities to think bigger about how analytics and data science in used in the industry.

Utilities have many single-purpose analytical models, but they do not easily inform each other or create a holistic view of an enterprise. They need a 720-degree view of our complex world! The next leap forward in data science is integrating analytical processes into digital twins of entire organizations. There is a need to unite models from generation to demand, from weather to outages, demographics to behavior, work orders to workforce, global economy to supply chain, from environment to community, and more, into single, tightly coupled systems that can mimic the whole connected industry and the people it serves.

With enterprise-level digital twins, utilities can simulate disasters, service delivery requirements, environmental impact, and rare severe events. Only with such tools will they be able to practice their planning and decision-making to meet the challenges of the future.

Participants of this Salt River Project session will hear about a significant new industry solution and contribute to this discussion to learn:

  • What is an enterprise digital twin?
  • What are the benefits of an enterprise digital twin?
  • What is state-of-the-art research?
  • What are the challenges to an enterprise digital twin?
  • What lies beyond this step?
