Kayla Bicol joined the Advanced Data Analytics team on the Continuous Improvement & Data Analytics department at CenterPoint Energy in January 2022. She is a trained mathematician that started her career in data science in 2020 in the food and beverage distribution industry with Sysco. Prior to her current role, she taught mathematics courses at the University of Houston from 2014-2019 and completed a postdoc with MIT from 2019-2020. She brings not only a strong technical background from mathematics and programming, but also a systematic approach to defining ambiguous problems and identifying quantifiable measures of success. She holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Mathematics from the University of Houston, where she is actively involved with her beloved mathematics department.
