Description

Every utility network is in transition due to an energy revolution while facing a wave of aging infrastructure and legacy design at the same time. Utilities need a more insightful way to look at the grid now and into the future.

EPCOR presents an overview of their distribution system asset risk-based framework, modelled in dollars, with a network simulation of their operations and contingencies at each node of the network. EPCOR uses quantitative risk, running many different scenarios, to inform decisions such as setting budget and target outcomes for portfolios and prioritizing individual component interventions, culminating in a single decision criteria summary, in Net Present Value, of the designed options.

Attendees will learn how to design and implement some of the most complex analytical use cases in asset management, with focus on the technology which was leveraged to make it possible. Attendees will learn about the changing grid, statistics, financial engineering, utility systems, continuous improvement experiences and more.
