Vegetation is a leading cause of outages for electric utilities. This session will present how CPS Energy went about collecting LiDAR data for its service territory, improved the data quality of overhead lines locations and established a technology to perform risk-based vegetation management. The technology has been adopted by Vegetation Management leaders to save time and effort performing field inspections, to communicate with community leaders and to more precisely manage tree trimming work assignments.
