April Marx is director, Work Management & Performance Improvement for FirstEnergy Utilities, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp.
April directs the work management systems for the physical workforce, providing key reporting for all levels of leadership. She oversees a wide variety of projects supporting the 10 operating companies in process improvement and increased efficiency across the FirstEnergy Utility organization.
She joined FirstEnergy in 2005 as a business analyst in the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) Department. In addition, April has served the company in Business Analytics. After several analyst-level promotions, in 2011 April was named supervisor, Long-Term Planning, Finance – FE Utilities. In 2012 April joined the Financial Transformation project as lead of Budget, Forecast and Planning, where she was responsible for selecting a new IT-based system, and scoping, planning and implementing the new system and process improvements. In March 2013 she was promoted to project manager of the Financial Transformation project in which she oversaw the multiyear effort to transform the value of FirstEnergy’s financial organization processes and technology as well as a shift in the primary focus of finance personnel. After completion of the Financial Transformation project in August 2014, April was promoted to director, Performance and Process Improvement. In 2015, Work Management was moved under her leadership.
